Minnesota lawmakers are to increase the amount the percent of diesel fuel to be mixed with biodiesel. The next year the mixture percentaje will be increased to a 5 percent blend, known as B5; then up to B10 in 2012 and finally to B20 in 2015.

In 2005, Minnesota became the first state to pass the biodiesel component in it's fuel, starting with a 2 percent biodiesel mixed in all diesel fuel. It seemed to be a easy target to hit, since Minnesota farmers were producing the soy feedstock for biodiesel. There were problem and setbacks. The the biodiesel component was pulled out of the fuel mix to quality test it and failed twice said Howard Wilner.

Nissan released details on the diesel engine that will introduce in US in 2010, after testing it in Japan later this year. Nissan has is a bit behind Toyota and Honda in hybrid production, but it is coming with fresh strength and will join the competition.
